Recallify ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Recallify mobile application and this website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using Recallify, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in, we may collect:

  • Email address, phone number, and display name (via Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, phone OTP, or other providers you choose)
  • Firebase user identifier (UID)
  • Profile preferences such as display language, speaking language, timezone, and default currency

Financial memory data

When you use Recallify to save or query expenses and income, we process and store:

  • Voice transcripts and text you submit (e.g. "I spent $20 on lunch")
  • Structured activity data: amount, category, description, date/time, expense or income type
  • Aggregated totals (e.g. monthly summaries) derived from your activities

Feedback and complaints

If you submit a complaint or suggestion in Settings, we store the title, description, your user ID, timestamps, and review status. Rewards are granted only if we approve your submission.

Device and usage data

  • Push notification tokens (FCM) to deliver reminders and alerts you opt into
  • App settings stored locally on your device (e.g. display language, confirmation preferences)
  • Basic diagnostic logs for troubleshooting (e.g. API errors in development)

Advertising data

On the free tier, we use Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve ads. See Google's Privacy Policy for details. You may reduce ad tracking through your device settings.

2. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Authenticate you and maintain your account
  • Save, organize, and retrieve your expense and income memories
  • Process natural-language queries using AI services
  • Configure speech recognition in the language you choose (speaking language)
  • Send push notifications (e.g. memory saved, referral rewards, daily reminders)
  • Enforce free-tier limits (memory items balance) and referral programs
  • Review complaints and grant optional rewards when approved
  • Display advertisements on the free plan
  • Improve reliability, security, and user experience

3. How we process voice and text

Speech is converted to text on your device using your operating system's speech recognition service, in the speaking language you select in the app (which may differ from the language used for on-screen text). The text transcript is sent to our backend API for analysis.

We use third-party AI providers (via OpenRouter) to extract structured expense/income data from your input. We do not sell your transcripts to third parties.

4. Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers to operate Recallify:

  • Google Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, Cloud Messaging, Remote Config
  • Google AdMob — Advertising (free tier)
  • Vercel — Backend API hosting
  • OpenRouter / AI models — Natural language understanding for save and query flows
  • Google / Apple — Sign-in providers

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data. We only share what is necessary to provide the Service.

5. Data storage and security

Your account and activity data are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, protected by Firebase security rules. API access requires authentication. We use HTTPS for data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data.

6. Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active. You may delete individual memories in the app or delete your account from Settings. To request help with deletion, contact us at Recallify Support. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Access & correction — View and edit your saved activities in the app
  • Deletion — Remove memories or delete your account in Settings
  • Language — Change display language and speaking language separately in Settings
  • Notifications — Disable push notifications in device settings
  • Ads — Premium subscribers (when available) may remove ads

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children's privacy

Recallify is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). By using Recallify, you consent to such transfers where permitted by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
